Here are three simple ways to say the same idea for a 6-year-old:

  • 1. The tram goes fast on the tracks. No cars are in the way.
  • 2. The tram zooms along the tracks. It isn't stopped by any cars.
  • 3. The tram moves quickly on the tracks. Cars are not blocking it.

Why these changes? I used easy words: 'tracks' instead of 'rails', and words like 'goes fast', 'zooms', or 'moves quickly' instead of 'runs fast'. For 'no cars are in the way' I used simple phrases like 'not blocked' or 'not stopping it' so the meaning stays the same but the lines are clear and short.
