City Zoom Squad — How City Transport Works
Hi! The City Zoom Squad are helpers who show you how people move around the city. Think of them as four friendly heroes who keep the city zooming:
- Captain Bus — big and strong; follows a route and stops at bus stops.
- Train Tina — fast and smooth; runs on tracks between stations.
- Bike Bella — rides on bike lanes; good for short trips.
- Scooter Sam — small and quick; good for short rides too.
How to Take a Trip (Step by Step)
- Plan: Ask an adult where you want to go. Look at the map or ask the adult which bus or train to take.
- Wait at the right stop: Find the bus stop or station sign and stand behind the line.
- Get on safely: Let people get off first, then step on the vehicle with the adult.
- Pay or show your pass: Tap a card or give a ticket if you need to.
- Sit or hold on: Take a seat or hold a rail if standing.
- Tell the driver or press the stop button when your stop is next.
- Get off carefully: Watch your step and stay with your adult.
Important Safety Rules
- Always travel with a grown-up unless you have permission to go alone.
- Stand back from the curb while waiting.
- Hold hands near roads and stations.
- Keep backpacks on your lap or on your back so nobody trips.
- Use crosswalks and wait for the walk signal.
- If you lose your adult, find a nearby driver, conductor, or a staff member and tell them you are lost.
What to Do If You Get Lost
- Stay where you are so your adult can find you.
- Find a safe grown-up to help: a bus driver, station worker, or police officer.
- Tell them your name, your adult's name, and where you were going.
Why Using City Transport Is Good
- Helps many people get places without lots of cars.
- Saves money and keeps the air cleaner.
- Can be fun — you meet new places and people!
Fun Activity
Draw your own City Zoom Squad map: mark your home, school, and favorite places. Draw the bus stops or train stations you would use. Give each vehicle a color and make stickers for stops!
That’s the City Zoom Squad! Now you know the helpers, the steps to ride, and how to stay safe.
