Corrected sentence

Hop on buses and trams, and ride in cars to zip around the city. We all follow the rules to stay safe.

Why we changed it — explained step by step

  • Lowercase "city" — only write City with a capital letter if it's the name of a place (for example, "New York City"). Otherwise use a small c: city.
  • Add a comma — put a comma after "trams" when you list things. It makes the sentence easier to read.
  • Use "ride in cars" — we usually say "hop on" for buses and trams, but for cars we say "ride in" or "get into" because you sit inside a car.
  • Second sentence is good — "We all follow the rules to stay safe." is clear and correct.

Quick tip for a 7-year-old

Think: you hop on things you step onto (bus, tram). You get into or ride in things you sit inside (car).

Another short version
