What is an Excavator?
An excavator is a big machine that helps us dig in the ground. Imagine a giant robot with a long arm and a big bucket at the end, just like a claw! It can scoop up dirt, rocks, and sometimes even water.
How Does It Work?
The excavator moves using its strong wheels or tracks. It can go forward and backward, just like your toy truck! The person inside the excavator uses a special joystick to make the arm move up and down or side to side. When they want to pick something up, they make the bucket go down, and then they lift it back up!
Where Do We See Excavators?
You can see excavators on construction sites where people are building new buildings, roads, or playgrounds. Sometimes they also help to dig holes for planting trees. They are very helpful machines!
Fun Fact!
Excavators can be really big, like a giant dinosaur, or smaller so that they can fit in tight spaces. Some even have special colors like yellow or orange!
