Excavators are really cool big machines that help dig in the ground, just like when you dig in your sand box!
Sometimes they have wheels, just like your toy cars! Wheels help them go fast on flat and smooth roads. Can you imagine racing your car on a nice road? That's what excavators do with their wheels!
But, excavators also have tracks, kind of like what a big tank has! Tracks help them move on muddy or bumpy ground where it’s not easy to go with just wheels. It’s like wearing special shoes that help you walk on soft sand without sinking in!
So, having both wheels and tracks helps excavators go fast on roads and also helps them be strong and steady when the ground gets really tricky. Just like you can run fast on the sidewalk but need to be careful when walking on grass or sand!
