Exploring Our Wonderful World

Hi! You are 7 years old and the world around you is full of amazing things. Let’s learn about three big wonders: stars in the sky, tall mountains, and deep oceans. I will explain each one in simple steps and give you fun things to try.

1. Stars — Tiny lights far away

What they are: Stars are huge balls of hot gas far away in space. They look like little twinkles because of Earth’s air.

  • Fun fact: The Sun is a star, but it looks bright because it is very close to Earth.
  • Try this: On a clear night, go outside with an adult. Find one bright star and one dim star. Count how many you can see. Draw their pattern on paper.
  • Question to ask: Do you see any shapes made by stars? Those shapes are called constellations.

2. Mountains — Very tall hills

What they are: Mountains are places where the land goes very high. They can be rocky, snowy, or covered in trees.

  • Fun fact: Mountains can be made by the Earth moving slowly under the ground.
  • Try this: Go for a short hill walk with an adult. Count how many steps it takes to get to the top. Notice if the air feels cooler at the top.
  • Safety tip: Always go with an adult and wear good shoes when you climb or walk on hills.

3. Oceans — Big, deep water

What they are: Oceans are huge bodies of salt water that cover much of Earth. They are home to fish, whales, and colorful coral.

  • Fun fact: The ocean is so deep in places that we know more about the Moon than some parts of the seafloor!
  • Try this: If you visit a beach with an adult, collect a few shells, feel the water, and watch how the waves move. You can make a small shell art picture when you get home.
  • Safety tip: Never go into big water without an adult nearby and a life jacket if needed.

A Little Adventure Plan

  1. Tonight: Look at the stars. Try to spot the brightest one and draw a picture.
  2. This weekend: Walk up a small hill with an adult. Take pictures of anything interesting (rocks, plants, birds).
  3. When you can visit the beach: Bring a small bucket and collect shells or pebbles. Make a shell picture later.

One Last Thought

Our world is full of wonders because everything is different and exciting. Keep asking questions like "How?" and "Why?" — that is how you learn more. Have fun exploring!
