Thanks — this is a useful mapping task. I can do one of two things, but I need you to confirm which you prefer:
- Suggested alignment (no live ACARA code lookup): I map each AoPS Prealgebra chapter topic to the most appropriate ACARA content description titles and the curriculum strand (Number and Algebra, Measurement and Geometry, Statistics and Probability), and give recommended year-level placements (Year 7–10). These will be pedagogically accurate matches but I cannot guarantee they use the current exact code identifiers (e.g., ACMNAxxx). If you accept this, I will produce a complete, chapter-by-chapter mapping with short rationales.
- Exact ACARA codes: I can return mappings that include the precise ACARA content codes (for example, ACMNA152 style codes), but I cannot look them up from the live ACARA website in this session. If you want exact codes I can either (a) you provide a copy or excerpt of the ACARA content descriptions (or a link that you paste the relevant code list from), or (b) you give me permission to look them up and confirm that you will paste the needed code list/HTML here for me to parse and map to the AoPS topics.
Which option do you want?
If you choose option 1 now, I will immediately produce a detailed, chapter-by-chapter mapping showing: the best-fit Australian Curriculum strand and content descriptions by year (7–10), a short justification for each mapping, and suggestions for extension or remediation. If you choose option 2, please paste the ACARA content list or tell me you will paste it and I will map using the exact codes.
Quick note on likely strand matches (so you see what to expect):
- Number sense, rules of arithmetic, factors/primes, fractions, decimals, ratios, percentages, exponents, roots → ACARA Number and Algebra (ACMNA...)
- Linear equations, inequalities, proportional reasoning → ACARA Number and Algebra / Algebra strand
- Perimeter, area, angles, right triangles, Pythagoras → ACARA Measurement and Geometry (ACMMG...)
- Data, measures of centre, basic probability, graphs → ACARA Statistics and Probability (ACMSP...)
- Counting, combinatorics, problem solving strategies → typically appear across Number and Algebra or Probability, or as proficiencies (problem solving, reasoning)
Reply with which option you prefer (1 = suggested alignment without exact codes; 2 = exact codes — and if 2, paste the ACARA code list or confirm you will provide it).
