Gazelles Love Company
Gazelles are animals that live on wide grasslands. They like to live with other gazelles in groups called herds.
Here are simple reasons why they like company:
- Safety: Many gazelles together can see and hear danger better. If one gazelle spots a lion, it can warn the rest.
- Finding food: When they move together, they help each other find good places with grass to eat.
- Taking care of babies: Baby gazelles stay near adults so the grown-ups can protect them.
- Playing and being happy: Gazelles run, jump, and play together — just like you playing with friends.
Think about your classroom or playground: you feel safer and have more fun with friends. Gazelles feel the same way!
Fun activity: Draw 5 gazelles standing together. Color them, then count how many eyes are watching for danger. (Hint: each gazelle has 2 eyes!)
Question to answer: If you see 4 gazelles, how many eyes are watching? (Answer: 8)
