What is an Airplane Yoke?
Okay, little buddy! Imagine you are in a toy airplane, and you want to make it go up or down, just like your favorite toy cars! In a real airplane, the special thing that helps the pilot do that is called a yoke.
What Does It Look Like?
The yoke looks a bit like the steering wheel in a car, but it has a different shape. It’s kind of like a circle with some extra parts that help the pilot steer the airplane.
What Does It Do?
When the pilot pushes or pulls on the yoke, it tells the airplane to go up into the air or down toward the ground. If the pilot turns the yoke left or right, the airplane will also turn that way. It’s super important for flying safely!
Why Is It Fun?
Just like playing with a toy airplane, using a yoke means the pilot gets to have fun flying high in the sky. Maybe one day, you can be a pilot too!
