Learn about the airplane yoke, a fun and important part of flying, explained for preschoolers.
Okay, little buddy! Do you know how cars have a steering wheel to help turn them left or right? An airplane has something similar called a yoke.
The yoke is a big, round handle that the pilot holds onto to control the airplane. When the pilot pulls the yoke back, the airplane goes up into the sky, and when they push it forward, the airplane goes down. Also, the pilot can turn the airplane by moving the yoke left or right, just like turning the steering wheel in a car!
So, you can think of the yoke as a special steering wheel for flying in the air!
