Train drivers have a very important job, and they use special signals to know when to go and when to stop!

Here’s how it works:

  1. Signals: Along the train tracks, there are tall poles with colorful lights called signals. These signals tell the train driver what to do.
  2. Green Light: If the signal is green, it means 'Go!' The driver knows it’s safe to keep moving forward.
  3. Yellow Light: If the signal is yellow, it means 'Slow down and be ready to stop.' The driver prepares to stop because the next signal might be red.
  4. Red Light: A red signal means 'Stop!' The driver must stop the train so it doesn’t go past the signal.
  5. Tracks and Stations: Sometimes, the driver also looks at the tracks ahead to see if there are trains or stations. They stop at stations to let passengers get on and off the train.

So, train drivers watch these lights and signs very carefully to make sure everyone stays safe. That's how they know when to go and when to stop!
