A Train Driver and How They Control a Train

Imagine you are playing with your toy train set at home. Just like you can control where the toy train goes, a real train is controlled by a person called a train driver.

What Does a Train Driver Do?

The train driver is like a captain for the train. They make sure the train goes to the right place, just like how you follow a path when you're walking in the park.

The Special Route

Trains travel on special tracks, which we call a route. These tracks are like a road but made just for trains. The train driver knows which tracks to follow so the train can get to its destination safely.

Traffic Rules and Lights

Just like cars have traffic rules and stoplights, trains have rules too! The train driver has to look at semaphores, which are special lights that tell the driver when to go and when to stop. If the light is green, it means 'go!' If it’s red, it means 'stop!' This helps everyone stay safe on the tracks.

Why Is This Important?

By following the rules and lights, the train driver makes sure that all the people on the train get to where they want to go safely. So, just like you listen to your parents and follow rules, train drivers do the same but for trains!
