Four Seasons and Different Weathers

Hello! There are four seasons that change during the year. Each season has its own kinds of weather. Let\'s learn them!

1. Spring

- Weather: It gets warmer. Sometimes it rains. Flowers and baby animals appear.
- Wear: Light jacket or raincoat for puddles.
- Fun: Watch buds open and jump in small puddles with boots.

2. Summer

- Weather: Hot and sunny. Sometimes it storms with thunder.
- Wear: Shorts, T-shirt, hat, and sunglasses.
- Fun: Swim, eat ice cream, play outside early in the morning or late in the day.

3. Autumn (Fall)

- Weather: Cooler, windier, and leaves change color and fall.
- Wear: Sweater or light coat.
- Fun: Collect colorful leaves and make leaf rubbings.

4. Winter

- Weather: Cold. In some places it snows; in others it is rainy or just chilly.
- Wear: Coat, hat, gloves, scarf, warm boots.
- Fun: Build a snowman (if there is snow) or drink warm cocoa.

Why Do Seasons Happen?

The Earth travels around the sun and tilts a little bit. Because of the tilt, sometimes your part of Earth leans toward the sun (warmer = summer) and sometimes it leans away (colder = winter). You can try a simple experiment with an adult to see this.

Simple Experiment: Ball and Lamp

  1. Ask an adult to help. Put a lamp on a table to be the sun.
  2. Hold a ball (your Earth) and stand a little away from the lamp. Turn the ball a little so one side faces the lamp directly — that side is warmer (summer).
  3. Now tilt the ball away from the lamp — that side gets less light — that is colder (winter).

This shows how tilt makes different seasons.

Weather Watching Activity

Make a small chart with a grown-up:

  • Write the days of the week.
  • Each day draw a sun, cloud, raindrop, snowflake, or wind lines.
  • Also draw what you wore that day.

See how weather changes from day to day and from season to season.

Quick Tips

  • Different places have different weather. Some places are warm all year. Some have rainy seasons.
  • Always check with an adult before going outside for a long time.
  • Ask: What season is it now? What clothes should I wear today?

Have fun watching the sky and learning the weather. You can be a little weather detective!
