Human Digestion Process
Alright, let's talk about how our body breaks down the food we eat. It all starts in the mouth, where we chew our food into small pieces. Saliva in our mouth helps to moisten the food and starts breaking down carbohydrates.
After we swallow, the food travels down the esophagus, which is like a long tube, and into the stomach. The stomach is like a mixer, churning and mixing the food with digestive juices like acid and enzymes. These juices help break down the food even more.
Next, the partly digested food moves into the small intestine. This is where most of the digestion happens. The small intestine is like a long, winding tunnel where nutrients from the food are absorbed into the bloodstream. Imagine this like a factory where the good parts of the food are taken out to give us energy and make us grow.
What's left of the food then goes into the large intestine, where the body takes out the water and leaves behind waste. This waste is then pushed out of the body when we go to the bathroom. It's like the body's way of taking out the trash!
