You will practice like a musician, not a hobbyist. Follow this disciplined weekly plan exactly; consistency beats talent.
- Piano (daily, 60–90 minutes): Warm up 10 min (scales, arpeggios from Faber ACE), 15 min Hanon‑Faber technical exercises (selections from Parts 1–2), 20–30 min assigned Faber repertoire and etudes, 10–15 min sight‑reading and theory from Faber curriculum. Use metronome; increase tempo only with flawless accuracy.
- Violin (5×/week, 30–45 minutes): Warm up 5 min open strings and bowing drills, 10–15 min Jamie Chimchirian Book 1 technique with video lessons (bow hold, tone production, simple scales), 10–15 min repertoire and rhythm practice. Use drone/tuner for intonation and short daily recordings to track progress.
- Enrichment (weekly): 1–2 TeachRock lessons for context and listening; work through Musical Ratios exercises to internalize rhythm relationships; once weekly use Raven Lite to listen to bird song, transcribe short motifs to improve aural skills and imagination.
- Assessment & goals: Record a 5‑minute video performance every two weeks; review with teacher. Monthly target: one polished piece per instrument, measurable tempo/accuracy gains on technical goals.
No excuses. Short, focused, disciplined sessions with deliberate practice will produce results.
