What Does It Mean to Swim?

Swimming is like playing in the water! When you swim, you move your arms and legs to go from one place to another in the water. It's a lot of fun and feels like flying but in the water!

How Do We Swim?

1. Get in the Water: First, you start by stepping into the pool or the ocean. Make sure you have your floaties or a life jacket if you're still learning!

2. Move Your Arms: Next, use your arms like they are big paddles. You can splash and reach out, just like a doggy does when it’s in the water!

3. Kick Your Legs: Now, kick your legs! It’s like you are trying to tickle the water with your feet. Kicking helps you go faster!

4. Breathe: Don’t forget to breathe! When you put your head in the water, you can hold your breath like a fish. Then, you can come up and take a big breath of air.

Why is Swimming Fun?

Swimming is fun because you can play games, make new friends, and cool off on a hot sunny day. Just remember to always swim with a grown-up so you are safe!

Let's Practice!

If you have a pool or a big bathtub, you can practice splashing and kicking with a grown-up. Swimming is exciting and a great way to have fun!
