Whereas, in the matter of the learner, age 13 (now 14), let the record show: hereby submitted is the ACARA v9 parent-homeschool music report and ensuing plan.
Whereas the student has completed a focused unit on the Pythagorean scale and interval ratios, demonstrating understanding of 2:1, 3:2 and 4:3 relationships, and has practised aural discrimination and notation exercises using a monochord; and whereas the student has commenced beginner violin lessons (three sessions), showing developing bow hold, posture, and secure open-string intonation;
Therefore be it noted that outcomes aligned to ACARA v9 in listening, performing and creating are evident: accurate recognition of simple intervals, written documentation of ratios, and initial transfer of tuning concepts to instrumental technique.
Be it further recorded that formative indicators include increased interval identification, growing practice discipline, safe instrument handling, and emerging expressive phrasing.
The plan for next year: continue weekly violin instruction, integrate monochord reflections into lesson warmups, apply Pythagorean concepts to repertoire selection, introduce tempered tuning contrasts, build sight-reading fundamentals, set progressive practice targets (15-30 minutes daily), and schedule informal termly performances for assessment.
