I will keep things simple. I will continue three formal lessons a week — teacher-led, focused, kind. I will build on this year's curiosity about the Pythagorean scale and interval ratios, tying each scale degree to a finger, a bow stroke, a tiny story. We watched monochord theory videos; we do not own a monochord, so I will substitute phone apps, a ruler demonstration, and careful listening exercises. Weekly: two practice days with 20 to 30 minute focused drills (scales, intervals, bow control), one review day with teacher, one ear-training dialog with parent. Repertoire: short etudes, simple folk tunes, one duet for ensemble feeling. Milestones: clean open-string tuning by ear, secure first-position intonation, clear down-bow strokes, performance of one three-minute piece at term’s end. I will cheer. I will measure progress by sound, not by perfection. I will keep joy in the bow. I will whisper encouragement and log small wins.
