How Baby Oryx Horns Grow
Oryx are antelope-like animals. When they are very young, their horns are short. As they grow older, the horns get longer and stronger.
Why horns grow: Horns help the oryx protect themselves and show maturity. They are part of how the animal adapts to its environment.
What changes as they grow:
- Size: The horns become longer from infancy to adulthood.
- Strength: The bones inside the horns become stronger.
- Shape: The overall shape becomes more defined as the animal grows.
Note for kids: Baby animals grow at their own pace. Horns don’t affect how cute they are—they’re just a natural part of growing up.
