Mushrooms are special plants that grow in the ground. They can look like little umbrellas or mushrooms might be round and bumpy. They come in many colors like brown, white, and even bright red!

Some mushrooms are tasty and we can eat them, while others are not good to eat. They need moisture, like rain, to grow, and they like to hide in shady places. Just like how we play peek-a-boo, sometimes mushrooms peep out from under trees or leaves.

They help our earth too! Mushrooms break down old plants and help make the soil nice and rich. Isn’t that cool? So, next time you see one, remember they are like little friends in nature!
