Welcome Louie, this lesson helps you add two digit numbers by lining up the digits and carrying when needed.

  1. Line up the numbers by place value, with ones under ones and tens under tens.
  2. Add the ones digits. If the sum is 10 or more, write the ones digit and carry 1 to the tens.
  3. Add the tens digits plus any carried 1.
  4. Write the total as the answer.

Two easy examples

  2. 57 + 36
