Playing the harmonica is super fun! Let’s learn how to do it nice and easy, step by step:
First, take the harmonica in your hands. Hold it with one hand on each side. Your thumbs can rest on the bottom, like you're giving it a little hug.
The harmonica has little holes. Look at it closely. Each hole makes a different sound. We’re going to blow air and draw air from these holes!
Now, bring the harmonica to your mouth and choose a hole. Take a big breath, and gently blow air into that hole. Can you hear the sound? It’s a special note!
Next, let’s make another sound! Instead of blowing, you can suck in some air through the same hole. This is called ‘drawing’ air. Try it and listen to the different sound it makes!
Keep practicing blowing and drawing air in and out. You can try different holes to see what sounds you can make. Sometimes, you might even make a funny sound, and that’s okay!
The most important part is to have fun while you play! You can pretend to be a musician and make up your own songs. Dance and smile while you play the harmonica!
