Learn about rain in a fun and simple way for 3-year-olds. Discover what rain is, how it forms, and why it's important.
Rain is water that falls from the sky! It comes from clouds, which are like fluffy pillows floating up high. When the clouds get too full of water, they can't hold it anymore, and that water falls down to us as rain.
Sometimes when the sun shines, it warms up the water in rivers, lakes, or oceans, and that water turns into tiny bits in the air called 'water vapor.' When lots of these tiny bits get together, they form clouds. When the clouds get heavy, they drop rain!
When it rains, the ground gets wet, and the plants drink the water to grow big and strong! Rain also helps fill up rivers and lakes so all the animals have water to drink.
When it's raining, we can put on our raincoats and play in the puddles! Or we can stay inside and enjoy a cozy day with books and games. Rain is fun and important!
