Okay, little buddy! Think of a walrus like a big, friendly sea animal that has really long teeth called tusks. These tusks are not like the teeth you have in your mouth; they are super long and stick out from the walrus’s face.

When the walrus is swimming in the ocean and wants to get out on the ice, it uses its tusks to help pull itself up. Imagine trying to climb out of a pool using your arms; the walrus is doing something similar but with its tusks!

The tusks help the walrus grab the ice and lift itself up so it can rest, nap, or just hang out with its walrus friends. Isn’t that cool? So, just like you use your hands to pull yourself up on the playground, the walrus uses its long tusks to pull itself onto the ice!
