Getting Ready to Save the Day!
Firefighters have a very important job, and they need to be very fast when they get a call! Here’s how they get ready step by step:
- Hear the Alarm: When there is a fire or an emergency, a loud alarm goes off in the fire station. This tells all the firefighters that they need to hurry!
- Put on Special Gear: Firefighters wear special clothes to keep them safe. They put on a big coat, pants, boots, and a helmet. The clothes are thick and help protect them from heat and smoke.
- Get Their Equipment: Firefighters grab their tools and equipment. This could be hoses to spray water, axes to break things, and other important tools they need to fight the fire or help people.
- Jump on the Fire Truck: Once they are ready, they quickly jump onto the fire truck! The truck has flashing lights and loud sirens that help clear the way as they drive to the emergency.
- Practice Safety: As they drive, they talk to each other about what they will do when they get there. Safety is the most important thing, so they want to make sure they are all prepared!
