Firefighters are heroes who help put out fires! When they arrive at a fire, they need water to do their job. They have a big tank on their fire truck that holds water, but sometimes that's not enough. If they need more water, they can use a special pipe on the street called a fire hydrant.

A fire hydrant is a big, round, colorful thing that you can find on the side of the road. Firefighters connect their hoses to the hydrant, and it helps them get extra water really fast!

Sometimes, if they're near a river or a lake, they can also use a pump to get water from there. So, firefighters have different ways to get water to help put out fires and keep us safe!
