Hi Naomi! Let’s learn how to tell fruits and vegetables apart! It’s super fun to know which is which!

  1. Fruits have seeds: If you see seeds inside, like in a tomato or a kiwi, it’s usually a fruit! Fruits grow from the flowers of plants.
  2. Vegetables are different parts: Vegetables can be roots (like carrots), leaves (like lettuce), or stems (like celery). They don’t have seeds inside.
  3. Taste test: Many fruits are sweet (like apples and strawberries), while vegetables can be tasty but often taste more like greens or have a different flavor!
  4. Shape and color: Some fruits are round or oval and can be bright colors like red, yellow, or green! Vegetables can be different colors too but often come in more earthy colors, like brown or dark green.
  5. Try them out: You can look at a picture, draw them, or even go to the grocery store! Ask a grown-up if you can help pick out fruits and vegetables!

Now you can use these tips to tell fruits and vegetables apart! Isn’t that neat?
