Building a House Step by Step
Building a house is like creating a big craft project! It starts with an idea, and we call that an idea a draft. Imagine drawing a picture of your dream house on paper. This draft shows how your house will look and helps builders know where to put everything.
Once the draft is ready, the builders get to work. The first thing they do is make a strong foundation. Think of the foundation like the legs of a chair. If the legs are stable, the chair can hold you up! In the same way, the foundation is the base that keeps the house sturdy so it doesn’t fall over.
After the foundation is built, the next step is to put up the walls. These walls are like the sides of a box and they help to keep everything inside safe and covered. Once the walls are up, the builders work on the roof. The roof protects us from rain, snow, and sun, just like an umbrella does!
