What is Puberty?

Puberty is a time when your body starts to change as you grow up. It usually happens when kids are around 9 to 14 years old, and it's the bridge between being a child and becoming a teenager.

Changes in Girls:

  • Body Growth: Girls start to grow taller and their body shape changes.
  • Breast Development: Girls begin to develop breasts as their bodies prepare for possible future parenthood.
  • Menstruation: Eventually, girls start their period, which is when their body gets ready for a possible pregnancy every month.
  • Hair Growth: Hair will grow in new places like under the arms and in the pubic area.

Changes in Boys:

  • Body Growth: Boys also grow taller and become stronger.
  • Voice Changes: Boys’ voices begin to deepen and this can sometimes make their voices crack or change suddenly.
  • Facial and Body Hair: Boys will start growing hair on their faces and other parts of their bodies.
  • Increased Muscle Mass: Boys often get stronger and more muscular.

Emotional Changes:

During puberty, both boys and girls can also experience emotional changes. You might feel happy one moment and sad the next, and that's totally normal!

Conclusion:

Remember, everyone goes through puberty at their own pace, so it’s okay if your friends grow and change at different times. It’s a natural part of growing up!
