What is Puberty?

Hey Morrigan! Puberty is a special time when kids start to change and grow into adults. This usually happens when kids are around 9 to 14 years old, but it can be different for everyone.

What Happens to Boys?

For boys, puberty means that their bodies start to grow bigger and stronger. They may:

  • Get Taller: Boys will grow taller during this time.
  • Voice Changes: Their voices might get deeper as they grow.
  • Hair Growth: They will start to grow hair on their face (like a little mustache) and under their arms.
  • Stronger Muscles: They might notice that they can run or jump better!

What Happens to Girls?

For girls, puberty also means growing up! They may:

  • Get Taller: Girls will get taller too during this time.
  • Body Changes: They may start to develop curves in their bodies.
  • Hair Growth: Girls will grow hair under their arms and on their legs.
  • Menstruation: Girls will eventually start their periods, which is a natural part of growing up.

Why is Puberty Important?

Puberty is important because it helps boys and girls grow into healthy adults. It can feel weird or surprising at times, and that's totally okay! Everyone goes through it, and it's a normal part of life.

Talking About Changes

If you ever have questions or feel confused about what's happening, it's great to talk to a parent, teacher, or another adult you trust. They can help explain things and answer all your questions!

Remember!

Every person changes differently, and it's all part of growing up! You're doing great, Morrigan!
