Firefighters are special helpers who keep us safe from fires. When there is a fire, like when a building is burning, they put on their big, protective uniforms. They also wear helmets to protect their heads.

When they get a call about a fire, they quickly drive their big, red fire trucks with flashing lights and loud sirens to the place where the fire is. When they arrive, their job is to help people get out of the building if they are inside, because it can be very dangerous.

Firefighters use hoses to spray water on the fire to make it smaller and stop it from spreading to other buildings. They work really hard to make sure everyone is safe and that the fire goes away.

So, if you see a firefighter, remember they are heroes who help us when there is a fire!

Police officers are helpers who keep people safe. They wear uniforms and badges so people know who they are. They drive cars with flashing lights and sometimes use sirens when someone needs help quickly. They help people who are lost, help at busy streets and crossings, and help if someone is hurt or in trouble. If there is an emergency, you can call 911 and police officers will come to help. If you see a police officer, you can say hello — they are there to help!
