A simple and engaging explanation of the four seasons - winter, spring, summer, and autumn - designed specifically for young children.
Hi there! Did you know that the year has four special times called seasons? They are winter, spring, summer, and autumn! Let’s discover what happens in each season!
Winter is the coldest time of the year. When it’s winter, you might see snow falling from the sky. It gets really chilly outside, and sometimes, we wear warm clothes like coats, hats, and gloves. Animals like bears often sleep a lot during winter. They are called hibernating animals!
After winter comes spring! In spring, the weather starts to get warmer, and flowers begin to bloom. You can see lots of different colors in the garden! Animals wake up from their sleep, and baby animals, like bunnies and chicks, are born. It’s a happy time when everything comes back to life!
Next is summer, which is the warmest season. In summer, the sun shines bright, and it’s perfect for playing outside! We can go swimming, eat ice cream, and have barbecues. Many fruits like strawberries and watermelon are ready to eat in summer. It’s a fun time to enjoy the outdoors!
Finally, we have autumn, also known as fall. During autumn, the weather starts to cool down again. You may notice the leaves on trees changing colors to red, orange, and yellow. Eventually, the leaves fall to the ground. Animals start getting ready for winter by storing food or getting cozy for the colder months.
So, every year, we have these four seasons in a loop: winter, spring, summer, and autumn. Each season is special and brings different things for us to see and do!
