What is Volunteering?

Volunteering is when someone helps others without getting paid for it. It means giving your time and energy to do something nice for someone else or for your community.

Why Do People Volunteer?

People volunteer because they want to make the world a better place! They help others who might need support or care. For example, they might help at a soup kitchen, where people can get food if they are hungry.

How Can Kids Volunteer?

Even kids like you can volunteer! Here are a few simple things you can do:

  • Helping Neighbors: You can help your neighbors by carrying groceries, shoveling snow, or picking up litter in the park.
  • Donating Toys: If you have toys that you don’t play with anymore, you can give them to children who might not have any.
  • Helping at Home: Doing chores at home, or helping a sibling or a parent can also be a way of volunteering in your family!

Volunteering makes you feel good because you are helping others, and it can also help you make new friends!

Remember!

Volunteering is all about kindness and giving back. You don’t need to do big things; small acts of kindness are very important too!
