What Do Goats Eat?

Goats are very interesting animals, and they have different tastes when it comes to food!

Adult Goats

Adult goats, which are the grown-up goats, usually like to eat young tree shoots. These are small, new branches that grow on trees. They have a slightly sweet taste and are very crunchy.

Baby Goats (Kids)

On the other hand, baby goats, known as kids, prefer to eat tender grass. This kind of grass is soft and easy for them to chew because it’s young and fresh.

Why Do They Eat These Foods?

Adult goats can eat tougher food because they have stronger teeth and bigger tummies that help them digest harder things. But little kids have smaller mouths, so they like softer foods that are easier to eat.

Fun Fact!

Did you know that goats love to explore their food? They will often nibble on different plants and leaves, making them very curious eaters!

So next time you see a goat, remember that adults enjoy those crunchy tree shoots, while the kids are happily munching on tender grass!
