What Are Constellations?
Have you ever looked up at the night sky and seen lots of bright stars? Well, those stars aren't just random! Some people, a long time ago, connected the dots between the stars to make special shapes. These shapes are called constellations.
Imagine if you had a big piece of paper and some dots (like stars) on it. If you drew lines to connect those dots, you could make a picture! That’s what people did with the stars. Some of the pictures they made look like animals, like a bear or a fish, and some look like people or other things, like a warrior.
Each constellation tells a story. For example, there is a constellation called Orion, which looks like a hunter. People tell stories about Orion and his adventures.
So, when you see stars at night, remember that they can be shaped into amazing pictures and that each picture can tell a fun story to take your imagination up to the sky!
