How the Large Intestine Works
Hi there! Today we are going to learn about a special part of our body called the large intestine.
What is the large intestine?
The large intestine is like a big tube inside your tummy. It helps our body get rid of things we don’t need anymore.
What does it do?
When we eat food, our tummy breaks it down. After that, there is some waste left over. The large intestine takes this leftover waste and squeezes out the water. This is super important because our bodies need water to stay healthy!
Where does the waste go?
Once the large intestine has taken out the water, it makes the leftover waste solid. Then, this solid waste goes to a part called the rectum. From the rectum, the waste leaves our body through something called the anus. This is how our body gets rid of things we don't need!
So, next time you eat, remember that your large intestine is working hard to help your body stay healthy!
