It's Okay to Be Afraid!
Hi there! Sometimes, we all feel a little scared, and that’s perfectly okay. Let’s talk about what fear is and why it happens.
What is Fear?
Fear is a feeling we get when we think something might be dangerous or make us feel uncomfortable. It can be anything: a loud noise, a scary shadow, or even meeting new people. Just like how some things make us happy, some things can make us feel scared.
Why Do We Feel Fear?
Our bodies are very smart! When we feel scared, our body tries to protect us. It’s like our own superhero! For example, if you hear a big thunder sound, your body might tell you to be careful because it knows it can be loud and surprising.
It's Okay to Talk About It!
If you feel afraid, talking about it can help! You can tell a grown-up or a friend how you feel. They might help you discover that what you are afraid of is not so scary after all. Sometimes, we just need to share our feelings and get a comforting hug!
Facing Our Fears
Sometimes, it can help to be brave and look at our fears. For example, if you are afraid of the dark, you could try using a nightlight or having a favorite toy with you. Little by little, you might find that things you were scared of aren’t so scary anymore!
Remember!
It’s always okay to feel afraid. Everyone feels that way sometimes, and it helps us stay safe. Just remember to talk and share your feelings whenever you need to. You're not alone!
