What are Stomp Rockets?

Stomp rockets are fun toys that fly high into the sky when you stomp on a launch pad! They are usually made of lightweight plastic and foam, and they're very safe for kids to play with. When you jump and press down on the launch pad, you create a lot of air pressure that makes the rocket shoot up into the air!

How Do Stomp Rockets Work? Here’s How!

  1. Getting Ready: First, you will need a stomp rocket set which usually includes a rocket, a launch pad, and a foot pump. Make sure everything is set up and ready to go!
  2. Step on the Launch Pad: Next, place your feet on the launch pad. This pad is what you will stomp on!
  3. Jump and Stomp: Now, jump up and stomp down hard on the launch pad! The harder you stomp, the higher the rocket will fly.
  4. Air Pressure Builds: When you stomp, you push air into a tube connected to the rocket. This is called air pressure. When there’s enough air pressure, the rocket can no longer stay in the tube.
  5. Blast Off! Suddenly, the rocket pops out of the tube and flies up into the sky! This happens because the air pushes it upward very fast.
  6. Watch it Fly: After it flies up, the rocket will come back down gently because of gravity. You can catch it or watch where it lands!

Why Are Stomp Rockets Fun?

Stomp rockets are not only fun to play with, but they also teach you about things like air pressure and gravity in a way that’s exciting and active! You get to jump, run, and see your rocket soar, which is awesome!

So, grab your stomp rocket and let’s see how high it can fly!
