What is the Pelvis?

The pelvis is a very important part of our body! It looks kind of like a bowl. Just like a bowl can hold soup or cereal, our pelvis holds and protects some of our body's important organs.

Where is the Pelvis?

The pelvis is located in our lower tummy area. It is found between our belly and our legs. Imagine a bowl turned upside down, that’s how our pelvis looks!

What Does the Pelvis Do?

  • Holds Up Organs: The pelvis helps hold up our organs like the bladder and parts of our tummy, keeping them safe and in place.
  • Helps Us Move: It helps us move around. When we walk, jump, or run, our pelvis helps carry our body and keeps everything steady.
  • Protects Important Parts: The bowl shape of the pelvis helps protect our organs from getting hurt when we play. It acts like a helmet for our lower body.

Fun Fact!

Did you know that both boys and girls have a pelvis? They look a little different, but they both work in the same way to help keep our bodies healthy and strong!

Now you know that the pelvis is not just a simple bone; it's a super important part of our body that helps us every day!
