How Cabbage Grows

Do you know what cabbage is? It’s a round, green vegetable that grows in the garden!

What Happens First?

First, we start with a tiny seed. This seed is very small and can fit in your finger. When we plant the seed in the dirt, it needs water and sunlight to start growing.

Little Sprouts

After a little while, the seed will start to grow a little sprout. This sprout is green and reaches up towards the sun! The leaves will start to come out and will get bigger and bigger.

Growing Bigger

As time goes by, the sprout will keep growing and growing. It becomes a big plant with lots of lovely green leaves. The cabbage gets round and full, just like a ball!

The Cabbage Head

Finally, after some more time, the cabbage grows into a big head that is green and crunchy. It’s ready to eat! We can use it in salads or cook it in yummy dishes!

Why Cabbage is Special

Cabbage is special because it is healthy for our bodies, and it can be fun to grow in the garden!
