1. Baby Elephant - Calf

The baby elephant is called a calf. Baby elephants are very big when they are born! They can weigh as much as a small car. A calf stays close to its mommy and drinks her milk. Elephants are very smart and love to play in the water!

The baby lion is called a cub. Lion cubs are so cute with their fluffy fur and big paws. They live with their family, called a pride. Cub plays with its siblings and learns to hunt with the help of their moms and dads.

3. Baby Frog - Tadpole

The baby frog starts off as a tadpole. Tadpoles live in water and have long tails. They don’t have legs yet but they swim around happily. As they grow, they change into frogs with legs!

4. Baby Kangaroo - Joey

The baby kangaroo is called a joey. A joey lives in its mommy's pouch for several months, where it stays safe and drinks milk. When it's big enough, it hops out to explore the world!

5. Baby Penguin - Chick

The baby penguin is called a chick. Chickens are fluffy and born in nests. They can't fly yet, but they waddle and slide on the ice! Penguins love to slide on their bellies!

6. Baby Giraffe - Calf

The baby giraffe is also called a calf, just like the baby elephant! When giraffe calves are born, they are already about 6 feet tall! They use their long necks to reach leaves in the trees.
