Owls are special birds that are awake at night when many other animals are sleeping. Here’s what they do:

  • Hunting: Owls are hunters. They look for their food, like mice and small animals. They can see really well in the dark, which helps them find dinner.
  • Listening: Owls have big ears, and they can hear very well. This helps them listen for the sounds of other animals, like the tiny squeaks of a mouse.
  • Flying: Owls are great flyers! They move quietly in the night sky. This helps them sneak up on their food without being heard.
  • Making Sounds: Owls make hooting sounds to talk to each other. If you listen closely at night, you might hear an owl saying “Hoo Hoo!”
  • Resting: Even at night, owls take breaks. They might sit on a branch and look around before flying again.

So, when night comes and it’s dark outside, owls wake up to hunt for food, listen closely, fly silently, and sometimes talk to each other!
