When you look at your body, especially as you grow up, it's important to know that many changes happen. Right now, at 8 years old, your body is still growing and developing. The labia majora and labia minora are parts of the female anatomy located around the vagina, and everyone’s body looks a little different.

Before puberty, it's very common for only the labia majora (the outer lips) to be more prominent, and that’s perfectly normal. When puberty starts, which can happen between the ages of about 9 and 14, your body will begin to change, and that includes the labia. The labia minora (the inner lips) may start to become more visible as the body develops.

It’s also important to remember that everyone grows in their own way and at their own pace, so not everyone will experience the same changes at the same time. After puberty, your body may look a bit different than it does now, which is natural and normal.

If you ever have questions about your body, it's a good idea to talk to a parent or a trusted adult who can help you understand more!
