What is Anger?

Anger is a strong feeling that we all sometimes have. It can happen when things don't go the way we want or when someone does something that makes us upset.

Why Do We Feel Angry?

Imagine you want to play with your favorite toy, but your friend takes it without asking. You might feel a bit mad, right? That's anger! It’s a way our body tells us that we need to pay attention to something that bothers us.

How Does Anger Feel?

When you feel angry, your heart might beat faster, your face might feel hot, and you might want to shout or cry. Those feelings are all part of being angry.

What Can We Do When We Feel Angry?

  1. Take Deep Breaths: Inhale slowly through your nose and then blow out through your mouth like you're blowing out candles. This helps calm you down.
  2. Talk About It: You can tell someone how you feel. Sharing your feelings with a friend or a grown-up can make you feel better.
  3. Draw or Color: Sometimes, drawing how you feel can help you understand your anger better.
  4. Count to 10: Slowly counting to ten in your head can help you calm down and think before you act.

Remember!

Everyone gets angry sometimes, and that’s okay! It’s important to understand our feelings and find ways to feel better. You are not alone in feeling angry!
