Learn how rain happens with simple steps and fun illustrations for young children.
Hi there, little friend! Do you know that rain is part of our water cycle? Let's learn how it rains step by step.
First, the sun shines on rivers, lakes, and oceans. This makes the water warm. When the water gets warm, it turns into tiny water droplets called vapor. These tiny droplets float up into the sky.
As more and more water vapor goes up, it starts to stick together and forms fluffy clouds. So, clouds are just lots of tiny water droplets floating together in the sky!
When the clouds gather too much water, they become heavy. You can think of it like a sponge that can soak up water. Once the sponge (or cloud) is full, it’s too heavy to hold the water anymore.
When the clouds can't hold any more water, the water droplets fall down from the sky. This is what we see as rain! It’s just the clouds letting go of the water.
The rain helps plants grow, fills rivers, and gives us the nice water we need. After it rains, you might see puddles on the ground where the water collects. We can splash in those!
So, remember: the sun warms the water, makes it rise, turns into clouds, gets heavy, and falls down as rain! Isn't that cool?
