What Happens When It Gets Cold?
When the weather gets cold, something magical happens to the water in the air. Normally, you can’t see this water because it’s in the form of tiny, invisible droplets. But when it gets really cold, something special occurs!
The Water Turns to Ice
First, when the temperature drops, the water droplets start to freeze. This means they change from being liquid (like water in your cup) to being solid (like ice in your freezer).
Snowflakes are Born!
As these tiny water droplets freeze, they come together to form beautiful ice crystals. All these little ice crystals join up, and together they make snowflakes. Each snowflake is unique, just like you!
Different Shapes of Snowflakes
Snowflakes can have many different shapes. Some can look like pretty stars, while others might look like tiny flowers or feather-like patterns. This happens because of the way the ice crystals freeze and the temperature and humidity in the air.
Why do We Love Snowflakes?
We love snowflakes because when it snows, everything around us gets covered in a soft, white blanket! It’s beautiful to look at, and we can have fun playing in the snow!
Let's Have Fun!
Next time it snows, you can look outside and see the wonderful snowflakes falling from the sky. Remember, each one is special and different, just like you!
