Where Does Lava Come From?
Lava is hot, melted rock that comes from deep inside the Earth. Let's think about it like this:
- Earth Layers: Imagine the Earth is like a big layer cake. The cake has different layers, and the middle layer is very hot!
- Heat: Inside the middle of the Earth, the heat makes the rocks melt. This melted rock is called magma.
- Going Up: When there is a lot of pressure, the magma needs to find a way to come out. It pushes up through cracks in the Earth's crust.
- When It Erupts: When magma comes out of the Earth through a volcano, it’s called lava. Think of it like a big, hot soup pouring out!
- Cooling Down: After lava spills out, it cools down and becomes solid rock again, creating new land!
So, when we see a volcano erupting, it’s lava that comes from the hot, melted rock deep within the Earth!
