What is Gender?

Hi there! Today, we’re going to talk about something called gender. Gender is a way to describe if someone is a boy or a girl, or sometimes something else.

Are you a Boy or a Girl?

Most people are either called boys or girls. If you’re a boy, you might like to play with trucks or superheroes. If you’re a girl, you might enjoy dolls or princess stories. But remember, it’s totally okay if you like things that are not usually for boys or girls!

What is Sex?

Now, there’s also a word called sex. This is different from gender and is usually talked about when people are older. It’s a way to describe the body parts that boys and girls have when they are born. Boys typically have different body parts than girls. But again, what’s most important is how you feel inside.

Everyone is Unique!

It’s good to know that everyone is unique. Some people may identify as a boy, some as a girl, and some might feel like both or neither. What matters most is being yourself and treating everyone nicely, no matter how they identify.

We should celebrate our differences and be kind to one another. It’s great to learn about who we all are!
