The Planets in Our Solar System
Our solar system is like a big family, and the planets are all the different members of that family! Let’s learn about each planet one by one.
1. Mercury
Mercury is the closest planet to the Sun. It’s very hot during the day and very cold at night! It is also the smallest planet.
2. Venus
Venus is the second planet from the Sun. It has thick clouds and is super hot! Some people call it Earth’s twin because they are similar in size.
3. Earth
Earth is our home! It is the third planet from the Sun. Earth has lots of water, plants, and animals. It’s the only planet we know that has life.
4. Mars
Mars is known as the red planet because of its color. It is the fourth planet from the Sun and has the biggest volcano in the solar system!
5. Jupiter
Jupiter is the largest planet! It has a big red spot that is a giant storm. Jupiter is the fifth planet from the Sun.
6. Saturn
Saturn is famous for its pretty rings made of ice and rock. It is the sixth planet from the Sun and very beautiful!
7. Uranus
Uranus is an icy planet that spins on its side. It is the seventh planet from the Sun and has a blue color.
8. Neptune
Neptune is the farthest planet from the Sun. It is a dark blue color and has strong winds. It is the eighth planet!
