Students can use the online decibel meter to measure classroom and environmental noise with the device mic, take a free hearing test and a hearing-age tone test, read a CDC/NIOSH-sourced chart of how loud common sounds are, and explore an interactive map ranking the noise of every US city over 100,000 people from federal data. It supports physics (sound, the decibel scale, logarithms) and health (preventing noise-induced hearing loss). Nothing is recorded or uploaded.
